From the Pastors Desk - November 03, 2024
Seeing as this is the month of Thanksgiving, it seems quite appropriate to give thanks for my many blessings! I often realize that I truly have been blessed in this life with so much, and I offer my thanks daily for all of those blessings. For the purposes of this article, though, I want to express my thanks to ALL of you for all that you do for Good Shepherd!
First and foremost, I wish to extend thanks to Pastor Eli. We are so fortunate that Pastor Eli joins us twice a month, and I have heard from many of you how much you look forward to his preaching! Thank you Pastor Eli for your willingness to help Good Shepherd!
I would also like to give thanks for Pat Hoffman. Pat has kept the music playing in our church and is bugged by me numerous times a week as we figure out the service music each Sunday. Believe me, that is no small task! Thanks also to Linda Miller and Chuck Pressler who have stepped up to take some of the load off of Pat! I know how much she appreciates it.
Thanks go out as well to our shut-in communion team headed by Pat Long! Thanks to all of Pat’s organization, communion is going out to all of our shut-ins. Thanks to all of Pat’s helpers too: Lester, Jen, Cindy and Gale.
Thanks to all of my council members for meeting each month, even when we don’t feel like it, to decide the business of the church.
Thanks go out to Alan and Chuck for keeping both the outside and inside of the building looking good and functioning.
Thank you as well to all of our ushers, lectors, greeters, church building openers and all who set up communion each Sunday. You may shrug and say it’s no big deal, but it really is! It keeps the church functioning!
Good Shepherd may be small but we are mighty! Consider this, 100% of the members are involved in some way with the workings of Good Shepherd. That’s amazing considering so many churches complain that so few people do ALL the work. ALL of our members do ALL of the work, and for that I am always grateful to ALL of you!
