Notes from the Choir Loft - October 31, 2022

November 6

We will remember those who have gone before us and remember those who have passed since last All Saints…Donna Z, Ron R, Ginny W, and June W.

November 20

Come and celebrate the last Sunday of the liturgical year, Christ the King. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection he becomes our Savior and King.

November 27

We begin the season of waiting and expectation of the birth of Jesus. “Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour.”

Advent Taizé Prayer Service

Tuesday, December 6th

7:30 at Zion UCC

Our choir and the choir from Zion UCC will join our to lead a time of prayer, reflection, readings, and singing. We will use the short repetitive refrains of the Taizé community, which we have used here at GSLC from time to time. Come and gather with us for a time of prayer and reflection.

Concert at Umstattd Hall Dec.11 @ 3 pm

(Tickets: 25, 35, & 55)

Dinner follows at La Pizzeria (On your own)

The sleigh bells will ring! Will you be listening?

Join us for a holiday celebration of music. Listen to your favorite yuletide tunes preformed by the wonderful musicians of the Canton Symphony Orchestra and chorus as we look forward to the new year. This concert is a patron favorite, as they perform standards and classics that will fully encompass you in all the holiday spirit you will ever need. There will be a sign-up sheet on the table in the gathering space for you to RSVP. Questions…see Bob L.

Advent is fast approaching.

On Sunday, December 4th, at 7 pm, we will gather for a Craft and Snack Night.

Lester Davenport is designing an Advent shadow box for each person attending to assemble.

Please RSVP by writing “Advent” on the back of your attendance card, with how many will be attending, by November 27th.

An invitation has been sent to Zion UCC to join us.

A special thank you to Lester for designing and putting the project together.

Help put our seasonal decor up on Sunday December 4th at 5pm, then stay for our Craft and Snack Night. If you can help, please RSVP by writing “decorate” on the back of your white attendance card.
